The lighting is powered by a completely sealed, waterproof battery pack that requires 4 AA batteries (not included). The battery pack is cleverly hidden inside a velcro pocket just below the pole sleeve. The embroidered artwork is viewable from both sides and the fiber optic lighting appears on one side.
